This was my first race back in Europe after a couple of disappointing opening World Cup rounds in Brazil. I wasn’t too sure of what to expect in the race and was hoping that the engine was a little more revvy than in Brazil. The course in Haiming was very rough and techy with lots of line choices to remember.
I dug deep to stay with the front group on the first lap but had to back off as I just couldn’t hold that pace. Being new to the course also didn’t help as I felt like I was learning the track still as the laps went on.
I found my rhythm on the last lap to claim a few more positions back and finish in 13th position. Unfortunately it was still the same issue as in Brazil feeling a bit flat and fatigued in the race with a low max and average HR. No time to do much about it however as the next weekend was the third World Cup of the year in Nove Mesto.
