After missing out on a number of World Cups this year it was a big relief to be back on the start line again before the end of the season.
I’d only had 3 weeks of proper training prior to taking the start line in Lake Placid, after months of uncertainty and what felt like a million restarts and setbacks.
I was therefore expecting very little from the race results wise, and was more just looking forward to being back racing again and feeling like I could start to make some good progress again!
Due to my World ranking dropping a lot this year I started well back on the start grid on the 6th or 7th row.
I came through the first lap around 60th and that’s about where I stayed for most of the race, finishing in 62nd at the end.
The positive take away from the race was that I rode consistent lap times, and I felt a lot better in myself health wise, although was just unfit!
Next up is my favourite course and venue in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada to round off the season.
